In the heart of Tanza 1, Navotas City, a pack has been forming — steady, resilient, and unafraid of hardship. They do not train on perfect pitches, and they do not wait for ideal conditions. They move forward together, learning early that survival and success come from unity.
This is Lobos Youth Club, founded in 2014 — a grassroots football family that has become a proving ground for young players who only needed a chance to discover how far discipline, teamwork, and heart could take them.
A Club Born from Belief, Not Privilege
Lobos Youth Club did not begin with grand announcements or polished pitches. It began with Manuel F. Lenogon Jr., a football man who believed that talent should never be wasted simply because of circumstance. Around him were children with raw ability, relentless passion, and hearts bigger than their realities.
Many came from underprivileged homes. Some carried burdens far heavier than their boots. But when they stepped onto the pitch, something changed. Football became their escape, their discipline, their hope.
As club secretary Kristian Lacson shares, Lobos exists for young people who don’t need saving — only guidance, structure, and belief. The club does not promise fame. It promises growth.
Why “Lobos”? Why Wolves?
The name says everything.
Lobos — Spanish for wolves — symbolize unity, loyalty, and resilience. Wolves survive together. They protect their own. They move as one.
That is exactly how Lobos Youth Club lives.
Here, no one is left behind. Victories are shared. Losses are carried together. Life’s hardships — poverty, pressure, self-doubt — are faced as a pack. Football becomes more than a game; it becomes a lesson in brotherhood, humility, and grit.
From Scarcity to Strength
The early years were unforgiving.
The head coach himself struggled financially while balancing family responsibilities. Equipment was limited. Balls wore thin. Training kits were shared. Players came and went as life intervened.
But what never ran out was commitment.
Session after session, Lobos showed up. Rain or shine. With faith, sacrifice, and stubborn belief, the club survived — and slowly, it grew. Each player carried a story. Each story became proof that greatness does not wait for comfort.
When Growth Met the Test
As the club matured, Lobos Youth Club stepped into tougher arenas — not to chase recognition, but to measure progress.
At the Australia Futsal Cup, held on November 29, 2025 at Belaremo, Quezon City, the Lobos kids faced teams that tested their preparation and composure. Match after match, they responded with discipline and heart — earning a 3–1 win over Quezon City B, a tightly fought 1–0 victory against Villamor FC, and a spirited 5–2 triumph over Valenzuela FC.
Advancing to the Quarterfinals, the result mattered — but the lesson mattered more. Competing alongside strong opposition sharpened their focus, strengthened their unity, and affirmed that they belonged on that stage.
Training with Purpose, Grounded in Values
Lobos Youth Club welcomes players across age groups — from as young as four to young adults preparing for life beyond youth football. With four training days each week, the club emphasizes consistency, discipline, and character-building as much as technical development.
Their guiding belief echoes across the pitch:
“Ang pisikal na lakas ay biyaya mula sa itaas na dapat gamitin sa mabuting gawa.”
Physical strength is a blessing from above — and must be used for good.
This philosophy defines Lobos. Strength without humility has no place here.
Leadership Forged in Grassroots Reality
At the helm is Manuel F. Lenogon Jr., a former Tondo Don Bosco player whose journey spans grassroots coaching, DepEd NCR competitions, and service as an NCR FA referee. His leadership is rooted not in theory, but in lived experience — of struggle, discipline, and growth within Philippine football’s hardest environments.
He does not just train players. He mentors people.
Moments Bigger Than Medals
For Lobos, progress is not measured by trophies alone.
A powerful moment of pride came when Hazel Ann Lenogon and Malkia Jhyra Turba were selected as Player Escorts in the international friendly between the Philippines and Uzbekistan. Standing on the pitch during a global occasion, they represented not just themselves — but every young Lobos player dreaming quietly from the sidelines.
Another milestone followed as Raven Jumawid stepped into NCAA South Season 27. His journey, built on discipline and consistency, reflected the club’s long-term vision: preparing players not only to compete, but to advance.
These moments reminded everyone that grassroots football, when nurtured with patience and belief, creates real pathways.
A Club for Everyone
Lobos Youth Club believes football belongs to all.
Their programs include girls’ and women’s football, goalkeeper training, futsal, school-based outreach, and community football initiatives — ensuring that opportunity is not limited by gender, age, or social standing.
Football, here, is a right, not a privilege.
Battles Fought, Victories Earned
Over the years, Lobos has stepped into arenas across local and national competitions — from Batang Pinoy to youth leagues and cups. Every tournament brought lessons. Every medal carried meaning.
Among their proudest moments:
- Batang Pinoy Semi-Finalists (Girls Team)
- 3rd Place – Philippines Cup
- Three-time Siklab Cup Champions
But nothing compares to their first-ever championship — a moment that turned years of sacrifice into tears of validation. It was proof that belief, when sustained long enough, becomes reality.
Impact That Goes Beyond the Scoreboard
Lobos Youth Club’s true victory lies off the pitch.
By offering free or low-cost training, the club has kept children active, disciplined, and hopeful. Parents, schools, and local government units have rallied behind the mission — opening venues, trusting the program, and seeing firsthand how football shapes better youth.
Here, discipline is exchanged for trust. Respect is rewarded with opportunity.
Still Fighting the Same Battles
Like many grassroots clubs, Lobos continues to face real challenges: limited funds, worn equipment, internal conflicts, and the constant struggle to sustain operations.
Their greatest hope is simple — support. Sponsorships. Quality equipment. Partners who believe that grassroots football is not charity, but nation-building.
Eyes Forward, Feet Grounded
In the next three years, Lobos Youth Club aims to deepen its impact — reaching more underprivileged youth, strengthening development pathways, and continuing to shape players who are disciplined athletes and grounded individuals.
Because at Lobos, football is not the destination. Character is.
Their motto says it best:
“Mata sa Langit, Paa sa Lupa.”
Eyes to the sky. Feet on the ground.
To the Young Dreamers
“Dream big, dream far, and don’t give up. And always feet on the ground .”
Your beginnings do not define your ending. As Lobos Youth Club proves every day — unity can outpace adversity, and dreams, when shared, become unstoppable.
